Project is Unviewable

I have been working on a database using access 2003. to get past the security
alerts i digitally signed my code. This was fine however I have now had to
move onto a different machine because the boss has taken the laptop on
holiday. This machine runs access 2000. I can get into and edit the database
fine and the code seems to run ok however when i try and get into the code to
edit i get an error saying project is unviewable under the heading project
locked. Does anyone have any suggestions? otherwise I am in bit of trouble.

thanks

To the best of my knowledge, I believe you will need Access 2002 or later to
work with a signed VBA project.

Your app should be OK, I don't think there's any reason to worry that it
might be corrupted or anything like that. You just need to either obtain a
later version of Access, or at worst wait until your boss gets back from his
holidays before you can edit any code.

Of course, it is always a very good idea to have a reliable back up copy
safely stashed away somewhere, just in case.

You can remove the digital signature very easily, James, in Access 2002 or
Access 2003. To the best of my knowledge, you can not do it using any
earlier version of Access. Of course, if anyone else knows differently, I
hope they will not hesitate to say so. But do please remember what I said
earlier about a backup, especially before attempting anything that might be
undocumented and unsupported.

Good luck.
