programs wont startup in XP

Application programs wont start when I double click on
their icon. Win XP desktop loads correctly, but no
programs will start. Any ideas?

your mouse "double click" settings may be set to actually
double-click when you double-click really fast. I'm not
sure where, but you can set that up in the Control Panel
somewhere.
