programs teminate randomly

certain programs sudenly terminate without warning or
error message. So far, this has happned to Norton
systemworks 2003, Norton Personal Firewall, and windows
update intallers. Does anybody know what the hell is goin
on here? I don't have any other programs running and only
one user is logged on. I'm stumpped. Please help.

--Athlon 2200 on ASROCK MoBo with VIA chipset, 512MB DDR
ram, 20-80gb HD

These are all programs that easily come under attack if a virus gets
through.
Try these to see if it helps:

AdAware:
www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot S & D:
www.safer-networking.org/
Check for Parasites/Worms:
www.gemal.dk/browserspy/parasites.html

If your able to erradicate the virus or viruses you likely have then I
recommend you install and run a firewall assuming ou aren't already, and if
ou are make sure it is working properly.

Yeh, I'm an idiot: that should have been self aparent. I
did a scan - found 11 viruses. DUH (smacks own head)
