programs running in background

On my windows xp I have the ability to check background
programs with msconfig. How is this done on win2000? I
have another computer with this system.

This is not quite correct. msconfig.exe shows you which
programs are ***launched*** at start time. If you wish to
see what's currently ***running*** (foreground or background)
then you must use the Task Manager.

Hi Tom,
There is also another utility available called "process explorer"
This will show dependancies to other processes and services running.

"Process Explorer" is available at www.sysinternals.com
