I recently upgraded to XP from 98 to allow me to get a high speed internet
connection. Due to space limitations on my c drive, I performed a new
install of XP onto my d drive. Now when I start up I get the choice of
either 98 or XP. However when I choose XP, none of the programs that worked
under 98 are available. How can I get XP to recognize all this software that
is already loaded on my machine? Once that is done I would also like to
remove 98 from my machine, any disadvantage to doing this?

Apparently, you did not "upgrade".

In addition to what Carey posted, I am curious as to why you felt you had to
upgrade from 98 to get a high speed connection... unless your ISP required
XP, there was no reason to upgrade just to get high speed access...as long
as your NIC worked under Win98 you were okay.
