Programs entering List

I'm at a loss for words as I don't know the name of the area that I want to
refer to.

I am using XP Pro and now my computer has developed the habit of putting
every program I open in the list above the ' All Programs ' ( that the area
I was referring to) I'm sure there is some tweak to control this but I don't
know where to find it.

The list gets long and then I keep getting the message that there is not
enough room. The icon size is set to small and the number of allowed
programs is set at 10.

Any thoughts please?

Thought:

Right-click the Start button, click Properties, Customize button,
Advanced tab, deselect "List my most recently opened documents" at the
bottom of the pane.

Thanks for the reply Elmo, but that doesn't work.

The area I refer to is immediately above ' All Programs ' and is in the
lower section if this clarifies it at all.

Right-click the Start button, click Properties, Customize button,
General tab, the "Programs" section contains shortcuts to the programs
you use most often.". Click the "Clear" button, or lower the count of
recent programs.

I hope this is what you're referring to. It appears to be where you set
the Max programs to 10.
