Programs (Empty)

Yesterday our virus scanner program detected a spyware, quarantined it, and
subsequently deleted the infected file. Now at the Start Bar in Windows XP
Home,
Programs shows (Empty) and all of the program selection icons to the right
of the start bar disappeared. The programs are still on the computer, just
not shown at Start>Programs. How do I get these back?
