Programs crash and reboot computer

In the last 6 to 7 weeks I have several pgms including
family tree maker, traktor dj mixer, wavelab, nero 55.10
and others that crash when I try to start them. The
program immediately crashes the computer to a reboot, no
warning, messages etc. I have run all the latest updated
virus and worm scans including adaware, spybot etc. This
is not the new sasser as this has been ongoing for the
last couple of months. Any ideas?

As a followup.... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling
the pgms, also installing to a second internal slave drive
with the same results exactly. All the affected pgms work
normal in safe mode.
