Internet Explorer reboots computer

I did a clean install of W2K recently. All the installed programs, including
Outlook Express work normally.
But when I attempt to open Internet Explorer, the computer shuts off and
goes into immediate reboot.
Any ideas how I can approach the problem?

Uninstall internet explorer or apply hotfix and patches or
service packs or upgrade your ie.
