Programs Can Not Update Registry - Access Denied

This is happening to me, all of a sudden, and I don't know why. And I only
have one user account with admin access. Can't install Spyware Doctor and
IE7, for starters, because of this.

Anybody?

You may need to change permissions on particular registry key(s) , delete
particular registry key(s) or modify your security settings in a security
program you have running that's protecting your registry.
 
Thanks, Jon....but it's happening when these are being CREATED - there are no
keys to modify. This is really strange...I thought I had all my security
settings fine, but I wil check them again and see what happens.
