programs automatically start when log on?

Can anyone help with this prolem i have windows xp, when i log on to my computer windows media automatically starts up, how can i stop this it has only recently been doing this?
 
Hi

Have a look in msconfig>startup to see if WMP is referenced there. If so
uncheck it and then reboot your system.

Look under
START / Programs / Startup

if its in there, right click and delete it

Otherwise look here :
START / run "msconfig" / STARTUP

untick mplayer
(and anything else that is not needed always running)
