when a virus or I do something stupid or an interruption occurs. If this
results in a partial installation but no unstall file existing.. It is
impossible to re-install that application, or to remove the entry from
programs and features.

Trying the install once again may prove successful, if something
inadvertently interrupted the operation the first time. Thereafter, the
UNinstall option should be available, if the program offers it.

In addition to attempting a reinstall.... the program manufacturer may have an uninstall or cleanup tool to address failed
installation issues.
In some cases, it may be recommended to follow that route to ensure the subsequent install is successful.
