program wont install

im trying to install a program on windows xp i keep getting this error:
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. choose "close" to terminate
application.
I have installed this same program on 2 other windows XP systems and they
installed just fine..what am i doing wrong on my system?

I found this on another support site:

Solution?

The easiest is simply inserting the Windows XP CD into the CD drive an
clicking start -- Run and entering:

expand X:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt

Replace X:\ with your CD ROM drive letter.

Microsoft has provided a solution for this problem here. It is relate
to running DOS based or 16 bit applications in Windows XP. If yo
either do not have this CD for some reason try downloading it here
After downloading the .zip you will have to extract it to you
windows\system32 directory. If this file does not work properly for yo
please check the feedback thread for assistance on your specific versio
of windows.
