program wants to keep installing itself?

office enterprise 2008 trial, that is.

Sounds like is possibly trying to repair itself? Have you tried manually
entering the Control Panel > open Programs and Features > select Office 2007
Enterprise from the list, and click 'Repair'? Make sure you have
Administrator privileges on the computer.
 
I cannot install or reinstall it.

all files are deleted except groove.*

which is protected somehow

all registry items concerning office trial

all this from microsoft's kb

yet still shows in software & features

the installer package (?) was not installed at setup evidently

so, I am basically *crewe*
