Program Trying to Access Email Addresses

D

Dan S

I am periodically getting a popup informing me that a program is trying to
access my email addresses and asking me whether I sould allow this. When I
answer no the popup recurs several times. After the last popup Outlook
freezes up.

I suspect there is some sort of virus trying to replicate itself, although
my Norton Anti-virus is not picking it up. Any suggestions on how to find
the program so I can delete it?

Thanks!

I suspect it's a legit program that is accessing outlook data, not a virus.

What version of outlook do you use? What addins do you use? Do you have
acrobat installed? Does it pop up at specific times? Can you repro it?

I am getting the same pop-up but I know it's legit as I am sending info from
Access to a calemdar. Any idea how to turn it off in XP? I looked in help and
it said create a public folder but for some reason I do not have that option.

Hi Dan S,

You saved my day - the little piece of software is awesome (can't believe
it's free); exactly what Microsoft 'forgot' to include with the added
security in SP3 for OutlookXP.

So thanks a million,
Chris
