Hello people!

Recently was posted here a program to make a "honeypot" [1] for hackers. I
can't find the link anymore.

Does someone here know any free program, for Windows 9x, to make a "honeypot"?
My firewall (Kerio) blocks all incoming connections (except for VNC and mIRC
file sending), and attempts at hacking get logged. I want to see what the
"hackers" are trying to do.

[1] a honeypot is a program to "attract" hackers, so they're logged and you
can discover what they were trying to do.

I posted this a couple of days ago: "Found two programs, WinMaid and
HoneyPot, at this new(?) site http://www.allwackedout.com/"

Most ACF posts can be found via Google "group" archives. Just search
for:
alt.comp.freeware honeypot
select the Group tab, and sort by date (optional).

Interesting stuff. It seems like you would have to disable Kerio and trust these
various programs in order for them to work though... you first said:

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I want to attract the hackers. Most are kids I imagine,
but there are probably some talented people out there too who might recognize
the situation and... (they fill in the blanks).

Yep. It is reasonable to assume that the 'talented people' run honeypot
detectors...
