"program not responding" problem

I have xp home and lately I am getting "program not responding" in Outlook
Express and also Internet Explorer almost all the time. It is driving me
crazy. I did the error checking and also the defrag. to no avail.

Any suggestions.

do you get these messages when you try to start the program, or when you are shutting down your pc?

When I try to start the program or go to any website. Also at times, when I
use the taskbar and open a program it happens. I can't pinpoint anyone
certain thing. But when it happens, which is often, I have to end the
program and start again. Very frustrating.

Thanks Ivee for those links. I did get that "ghost feature" in IE sometimes
but I think I found out what was causing it. One website that I goto
frequently had stopped working and would cause all open programs, websites
to freeze.

Still testing though and its good to know that one website about the ghost
feature that I might have to use.
