Program menu

Created a shortcut from a program item in the Start > All Programs > ... menu
by dragging the program item from the menu to the desktop. Unfortunately,
the program is no longer in the program menu. Now only on the desktop. How
can I add the program back to the Start > All Programs menu???
 
If you have Windows2000, XP or ME then drag it back to start menu, pause on
start for few seconds, until it opens and so on.
When you want to drag something from start menu to the desktop and leave it
also in start menu, press control before you release the mouse button
