Hi,
Before anyone says to go look up my response in Google, I would if I
knew how to articulate it correctly.
Here's my sitituation.
I am running XP Pro SP2. When I go to start, then Programs, my list
is so long it goes off the screen on the right side. Is there some
way I can scroll to the right to be able to see all the programs that
are off this screen?
Also, is there a way to remove the splash screen on boot. The one
that says Windows XP and has the small bar running across the bottom
of the screen?

Thanks for any help

Hi, You can shorten your "programs" list by grouping similar programs into
just a few folders.
Right click on start and select "open all users" then open the programs folder
(this folder is what is displayed in your programs list)
Create new folders and name them then drag and drop icons into these new
folders. I placed all system utilities into one(defrag,anti-virus,anti-trojan)
And all games into another one. This will shorten your listing and when you
move your mouse pointer over one of these new folders it will "expand open"
and display all of it's contents.

At the link below you will find how to disable/remove your startup splash
screen, I
believe that you can even change it to whatever photo you wish.

In addition: Right click the Start
button/Properties/Customize/Advanced/Scroll Programs.

Two things: The width of the menu is set by the length of the longest
item. R-click on long ones and rename to reduce unneeded verbiage
(leading Microsoft, or 'Personal Edition' for example)/

R-click on Start; Open all users, Open the Program folder and make some
subfolders to be sub-menus, and drag items into them - eg one sub-menu
for Games; one for Multimedia and so on

Short of some third party tool that would edit the code file that is
running at that point, no there isn't.
