Hi,

i have installed a new program (ChartSmart 2000) and every time i
attempt to start this program this causes a crash on Windows/XP home
SP1.

Then i choose for sending report to Microsoft and i got the following
messages:
-------------------------------------
A Service Pack Update Is Available

Thank you for submitting an error report. A solution is not available
for the problem you reported. We have detected that your computer is
missing important security and performance-related features offered
by Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2).

To improve your computer's overall performance and help protect it
against viruses and other security threats, download and install SP2
now:

To install SP2 on a single computer, go to the Windows Update website.
IT Professionals and Developers, get support and deployment
information
at the Microsoft Download Center.

To learn about SP2 features or what to do before installing, visit the
Windows XP Service Pack 2 Support Center. For a list of fixes included
in Windows XP Service Pack 2, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article

My problems and questions are:

1. is it really that i need SP2 to solve this problem, i think there
are much other users who run this program (ChartSmart 2000) under XP
without having SP2.

2. SP2 is so new and is not available on the language i work with
(dutch)

So how can i solve this problem, will appreciate any feedback,

Thank and regards
Irwan

It's not possible to answer that question. However the answer is probably
NO. It's Microsoft taking the oportunity to tell you that SP2 is available.

You mentioned that it said... "Thank you for submitting an error report. A
solution is not available for the problem you reported." That probably means
Microsoft doesn't know what the problem is - try contacting the vendor for
ChartSmart 2000.

Thanks for your feedback, the problem is indeed solved WITHOUT
INSTALLING SP2.

The problem is a conflict with another resident program and when i
remove that other resident program the problem is solved.

regards
