Program Error - wordpad.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

When I execute wordpad.exe the screen comes up shortly
after that I get the following error and the program shuts
down:

Program Error

wordpad.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

Where is the error log so I can look at it? Is this a
virus? I am using Win 2K Pro and have all the updates
applied. Also, I have virus protection installed.

Any ideas?

This error was resolved when I made my default printer a
local printer. The problem started when the network
printer was not available.

Use the Event Viewer to see the error.
Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
Select the Application Log or the System Log.
Select the entry of interest, Right Click and select Properties.
