Prog to dnload emails from webmail-based server

R

RedFox

Hi Experts,

Does anyone know of a program that could download the emails from a webmail
based server,
like Hotmail?

I used that mail server for a while, because I had to, but it is a pain in
that I have to go online anytime I need to check something in the emails or
an email address.

I did download and try a prog called True Switch from SBC but it was a
USELESS piece of &#%@, with zero support.

TIA

http://www.freepops.org/

"FreePOPs is an easily extensible program, which allows access to the
most varied resources through the POP3 protocol. Mainly, it can be used
to download mail from the most famous webmails, but it could also be
used as an aggregator for RSS feeds and much more. This way it is
possible to get all your messages in your favorite email client.
FreePOPs is Free Software!"

Works perfectly.

Less than 5MB ram occupation here.
I like it: does what it says, and imho it's not particolary slow.
Works perfectly with all my webmail accounts, and also for mail accounts
I can't access as I'm not connected with same IP provides me the the
mail address.

Try these
http://www.boolean.ca/hotpop/
Hotmail Popper is a small application that allows you to check your
Hotmail account e-mail from a normal POP mail client (such as Eudora,
IncrediMail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Opera, Netscape, etc). Unlike
standard mail accounts which allow users to retrieve their e-mail
through a POP mail client, Hotmail can normally only be checked on the
web. With Hotmail Popper, you can use your favorite POP mail client to
retrieve your e-mail from your Hotmail account. In addition, Hotmail
Popper allows you to send e-mails through Hotmail's service, as if it
was a normal SMTP (outgoing mail) server

Thanks Gerritt.

I visited but could not find eremove and there is no search engine there.

I tried eP but found it a bit flaky. I might go back to it.

Take care.
