profiles problem

hi, sorry for the cross post but i've had this prob for a few days now.

i caught a virus on my computer and in getting rid of it i deleted the
profile, it comes up as 'account unknown' in system tools -->advanced --->
user profiles ---> settings

anyway i can't select it even though if i go to the documents and settings
folder it's still there?
can anyone help?
