Looks like you've got the same problem as I have. After installing SP4, W2K
takes ages to shutdown and there is an error recorded in the (Application)
Event Log:-
Source: Userenv
Category: None
Event ID: 1000
User: NT Authority/system
Details:
Windows cannot unload your registry class file. If you have a roaming
profile, your settings are not replicated. Contact your administrator.
DETAIL Access is denied. , Build number ((2195)).
The M$ KB references all relate to earlier versions and tell you to install
the latest SP..... There was a hotfix for SP3, but it won't run if SP4 is
installed.
There's a get round for the slow shutdown, but that won't help with the
profiles. <Sigh>

Yup, that's what I'm getting as well - I can see that one
of the registry hives is not unloading at logoff, which
is causing the delayed shutdown and the profile problem,
but I'm not sure what is causing that problem (we run
both W2K logo software and some non-logo/legacy stuff,
including VNC).
I am following up on a couple of possible options,
including adding a registry key that forces the unload of
any dll that is not currently being used. If you figure
something out, please email me at
(e-mail address removed). If you want, send me your
email and I'll let you know if I get the problem resolved.
Thanks...just another squirrely W2K issue
