Profile - roaming and server copy problem

When I log on from my Windows XP node to Server 2003 with my roaming profile, I am getting the following message:
Windows did not load your roaming profile and is attempting to log you with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. Windows did not load your profile because a server copy of your profile folder already exists that does not have the correct security. Either the current user or the Administrator group must be the owner of the folder. Contact your administrator.
Let me mention here that I have the administrative rights. Kindly suggest how can I correct this problem.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with your permissions on the local
workstation.

Did someone change ownership/permissions on the profile folder on the
server? If they took ownership, they had to assign it to the Administrators
group, not to Administrator (or whatever it's been renamed to) to make it
work, and then reset the NTFS permissions so that your user account also has
Full Control in addition to whatever else they wanted (such as
Administrators/System - often wanted so the backup can access the folders).

info.

Dear Lanwench,

Thanks for your mail. Your advice was followed but did not understand how to
give the NTFS permission. Neither did the link help as it was for Server
2000.

Will it be alright if I log on from my node to the server and thereafter
delete the user in SBS 2003 and then re-create it? Will it solve the issue?

Not necessary. So, you took ownership as Administrators, right? Now you can
go to the security tab, and add the permissions you want....what folder did
you take ownership of - just your own profile subfolder? Permissions should
be Administrators & System & youraccount=full control. Then in advanced,
apply to all subfolders.

Dear Lanwench,

Thanks for your advice. I tried everything but it did not work. Ultimately,
I renamed the folder in the Shared Users Folder and when I logged off and
logged on again a new and proper folder was recreated in the Shared Users
Folder.

I thought that I shall share this information with you.

I observe that my server has profiles at two places as follows:
1.. \\Server\Users
2.. \\Server\d drive on server\Profiles
How do I correct it so that they are at one place? How do I migrate the
newly created ones to one folder?

Thanking you in advance.
