Product Suggestion: lock border and cell formatting only

D

Dave Stewart

Often I use borders and cell formatting to highlight columns or rows of my
document.

When I use the fill handle to propagate values, it always overwrites border
and cell formatting, thus wiping out my careful delineation of spreadsheet
areas.

It would be really useful if you could lock cells then simply drag to change
values, not formatting 9including conditional formatting).

Thanks.

This is very good product suggestion as it frustrates me too.

BTW Gord - Your response works fine for one single user, but if for examplea scheduling file was on a server, and many people throughout the company make changes to it.... see what I'm getting at? Even if they all knew how to do "fill without formatting", there always those lazy ones....

So yes there should be a way to force users to copy and paste values only.
