Product Key

My brother-in-law bought the computer a few months ago and activated it it
with the product key given. he then gave the computer to me and when i type
the product key in, it says it is invalid and i have to buy another 1 for
£250, what shall i do?

Does it really say that you have to buy another for GBP250?

Use telephone activation. It takes a few minutes only..

well it says i have to buy a product key and it gives me a website, on the
website it cost £250. i tried calling them but i was in a queue for 30mins,
maybe because it is sunday night. i will try again tomorow morning

thanks for the link but that tells me how to 'activate' windows. i cant even
get to that stage yet, i have a problem with the my product key,
