Just purchased a new computer with Windows XP. Trying to
open Microsoft Office 2003 on it. It does not accept the
product code on the cert. of authenticity. ???

Which Product Key are you using?
Windows has a different Product Key from Office and they are not
interchangeable.
Make sure you are using the Product Key for Office.
Otherwise contact the seller.
