PRODUCT KEY

I HAVE MY WINDOWS XP CD BUT ONE OF MY KIDS HAVE LOST THE
CASE. SO I HAVE NO PRODUCT KEY NUMBER, NOW I KNOW THAT IF
I PUT THE CD IN I WILL FIND IT IN A README FILE BUT WHERE
AND HOW???????? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

The Product Key is not on the CD at all.

If Windows XP is installed:

Near the bottom "View Product Key XP"

Otherwise if Windows XP is retail contact Microsoft:

If Windows XP is OEM, contact the seller, Microsoft can not help.
