Product Key Number for Windows XP Pro

I need to reinstall Windows XP Pro but I lost the Product Key number.
Is there a way to get this number off of the Windows cd?

The Product Key for Windows XP is not stored on the
Windows XP installation CD.

If Windows XP is currently installed and running:

i dont think there is a way because ive lost keycodes for many games and i couldent find it.

the only reasonable thig i can think of is it has somthing to do with the
serial number or the disc barcode.
i have burned games and reg codes dont work on burned cd because of diff
serial number.
