Product Key Doesn't Work

T

terence sutherland

This past week I purchased the Microsoft Office
Professional Edition 2003 Evaluation Kit.

After I put in one of the disks to use, I was asked for
the product key, which I put into the system.

It says I did not put in a valid product key, yet this
orange sticker says the same as what I've placed!

ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS?

Thank you for any suggestion you may render.

Do any of the 0 (zero) look like O (O as in Orange)?

Also, is it a beta copy that's expired?

There is an article about this very topic in the most
recent Microsoft Office newsletter. Perhaps they also
have an article at their home site? (Sorry, I didn't
check and don't have time right now. But apparently it
is a known problem.)

I'm just curious as to why you're asking about this in the PowerPoint
newsgroup.

You might check the office.misc group -- they deal with a lot of
installation issues over there and may be aware of this one.

Also, I know that I had a hard time getting Office 2003 to install as well.
I misread one number for a letter (can't remember what it was, though. 1/L,
zero/"oh", 2/Z, there are a bunch it could be), and it took me what seems
forever to figure out what the problem figure was.
