processor

I'am running Windows XP home edition.When I go into
system information it shows a 500 megahertz processor,I
have a 1000mgh.in it.I ran Belarc Advisor in March it
showed a 1000 mgh processor. I ran it on Oct.27 2003 it
showed a 500 mgh processor.Can anybody tell me what going
on and the speed I'am running.

Check your bios, sometimes your system will clock down on it's own, to a
lower(safer) clock speed.
