i have a laptop with a celeron 530 1.73Ghz processor. can i load a 64 bit
version of vista on it?

Yep, but the performance might be lack lustre, I would preferrably run a 32
bit version of Vista, most likely Vista Home Basic too unless you trick out
your memory and graphics processing unit.

Isn't that a 32-bit processor? In that case you cannot load a 64-bit
OS.

Yes, it will support the 64 Bit version of Vista. It is a 64 Bit CPU. (For
those that want more information, it is based on the Core architecture, 1MB
L2). It's not that bad of a CPU.
