Processor Patch

I'm running XP SP2 on a notebook. For the past few weeks, something has been
making my processor run continuously even when the computer is idle. I heard
somewhere that there's a patch to fix tihs bug. Does anyone know where I can
find that patch? I haven't been able to find it on the MS website.

Microsoft techs would start you out trouble shooting by useing
MsConfig,specifica-
lly by kb310560.As far as a "patch" goes,thiers only one for xp,but it
specifically
fixes problems if 2 processors are installed,hyper-threading type would
qualify,
its hotfix #896256
