Processor Patch?

I'm running XP SP2 on a notebook. For the past few weeks, something has been
making my processor run continuously even when the computer is idle. I heard
somewhere that there's a patch to fix tihs bug. Does anyone know where I can
find that patch? I haven't been able to find it on the MS website.

There aren't any Microsoft Access database patches for that. Microsoft
Access doesn't cause the CPU to run continuously when idle. It may go to
100% while processing a query, but when the data set is returned, the CPU
returns to idle, just as it should.

Actually, earlier versions of Access (2.0, 95, 97) do cause the CPU to show
100% utilization during idle time, but it shouldn't cause any problems.

Hi, Doug.

He's complaining that his CPU is running continuously when idle. After
about the first 30 seconds, he can't blame it on Microsoft Access 2.0, 95,
or 97 if he has any of those rather old versions installed on a much more
recent operating system.

yeah.. but she's right

if you're using too much processor, then move to SQL Server

SQL Server has these little things called 'enterprise level tools'
such as Index Tuning Wizard and Database Tuning Advisor.

MDB is laughable-- not usable for a single record nor a single user
 
I have noticed that anytime Outlook is running it is using at least 15% of
the CPU even if just sitting idle. Anybody know why?

I'd suggest reposting your question to a newsgroup related to Outlook.
