Processor Compatibility Patch

I keep getting a message from Dell that I need a Processor Compatibility
Patch that adds compatibility with Pentium 4 Processors and multi-processor
enviornments. It is from Visual Networks Software. Is there anyway to know
if this is legit. Do I really need to install this patch. Thanks in advance
for your help.
