Process called "System" consuming 95% of CPU

I am screwed. Nothing I do will stop my CPU from being pegged. This started
after I installed IE7, then uninstalled to go back to 6. Another story. I
am trying to uninstall and reinstall 6, but now it does not show in
Add/Remove programs. The iexplorer.exe process also is pegging my cpu.
Ready to go postal....

That should be iexplore.exe. Look in Task Manager (Ctrl/Alt-Del) and
see if you have more than one instance of iexplore.exe running. There's
a virus that uses that name..

Good advice from Elmo as usual. However, there *is* a program called
"iexplorer.exe" and it is malware. Time for the OP to do some scanning:
