Procedure for Changing IP address

G

Glenn

I have 2 Active Directory domains - call them old & new.

The DNS & WINS of both domains are replicating between
both domains - access is working just fine.

The new domain uses 192.168.110.x. The old domain uses
192.168.246.x.

I need to convert my old domain to use the 192.168.110.x
subnet.

Is there a recommended order to make this change?

For example:

PDC DNS, then PDC WINS, then change the machines??

Change IP on the DC. After Netlogon restart it will reregister its new IP in
the DNS server. Next change DNS/WINS server and then go for you clients.
