Problems.

Ready to shoot this computer. My drives don't work , CD-DVD and CD-RW. The
device manager they are working properly and I've troubleshooted both and
still they won't boot-up or burn. Anybody know whats going on here?

You might try looking on the web for updated drivers for both devices;
otherwise I would simply uninstall and reinstall the drives in the
Device Manager to see if that will clear the problem.

Yep i know what you are going throught its an microsoft
bug with sp2 ... I have seen many with the same
problem ... I just wish by now microsoft would recognize
it and do something about it , or at least mention
something to there customers about an futur patch ..

It's likely not a bug with SP2, but the upgrade to SP2 may have broken
the CD/DVD burner software. Look for an update from the burner
software people, not Microsoft.

Have you installed SP2? If so look at the following:

This is a problem with SP2. "imap" from SP2 has a fault in it. No
recording to a new CD-R or CD-RW because it is shown as full. Microsoft is
aware of the problem.
