Problems writing photos to a CD-RW

I have some pictures I would like to copy to a CD, but I can’t get the
computer to write the files to the CD. When I click “Writes These Files†the
copy wizard pops up and ask me to enter a name, I do and I click “Nextâ€. It
then pops up a message that says there is no CD in the device, but there is
and the computer recognizes it as a CD-RW or CD-R. I have no problems loading
programs from the CD player and I can Burn music as well.

Am I missing something here? At first I thought it was because I was using a
CD-R not a CD-RW, but I tried a CD-RW and it still doesn’t work. I know the
computer recognizes it because when I stick a CD-R in, it shows a CD-R in the
drive and same goes for a CD-RW.

Thanks

Does the CD already have some files? Windows XP does not support UDF
{packet writing} format which allows you add additional files {as you would
with a floppy or hard drive}. With Windows XP, once you copy files to a CD,
the CD is closed. Additional files cannot be added.

If the above is your case, you need a third party software that supports UDF
format.

Don, I am using new CD's, nothing on them.
