When I try to install windows XP on a brand new system, I
get the following error...

File \i386\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded.
The error code is 32768

does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

thanks,

Michael

Don't know - is the cdrom bad? Have you browsed
that file in that folder to make sure is accessible?

If you tried an upgrade CD the system usually says so, but then anything
might be possible. It needs to be a full version CD.

Are you doing a clean install, i.e., format the hard drive and then
install? If yes and you are having installation problems, you probably
have some faulty hardware. Start by doing a RAM test - I like Memtest86
from www.memtest86.com. Let it run overnight. If the RAM is OK, then
test your hard drive with a diagnostic utility from the hard drive
mftr.
