Problems with Windows Vista Ultimate

I'm facing problems with my Fujitsu laptop after I installed Win Vista
Ultimate (TM) RC1 Evaluation Copy, Build 5600.

1) I am unable to access files which I had used a program called OmniPass to
lock it. The user informations were all missing and there's no preset user. I
have tried to create new identities, but it can never run successfully to
create the identity.

2) Everytime I try to change my account picture and try to browse for
pictures, my laptop shows the BLUE screen that says "error" and restarts
itself. This happens when I try to change the desktop wallpaper and when I
try to shut my laptop down.

3) My printer can be detected but cannot be installed. Since it is an
ALL-IN-ONE (EPSON STYLUS CX 4700), it has a scanner, and this was detected
and can be used. Is there anyways to solve this problem? I have lost my
installation CD, and the drivers on my printer support sites cannot be used.

4) Whenever I turn on the computer, I get a message that says my High
Definiton Audio has stopped running. When allowed to get support
automatically, I always come to a page on MS website that says "A THREAD WAS
STUCK." It recommended a change of video cards. What should I do?

5) Is there a difference between Windows Media Format 11 Runtime and Windows
Media Player 11? Can I remove 1 of them?

5) There are 2 monitors -" Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R)
915/GMS/910GML Express Chipset" & "(Default Monitor) on Mobile Intel(R)
915/GMS/910GML Express Chipset". The system has identified the monitor as the
former. Is this right? I have tried to change to the "(Default Monitor)" but
it does not work. It automatically reverts to the "Generic PnP Monitor".

*Please note that I did not do a clean installation but an upgrade of
Windows Vista. Also, my system does not meet requirements to install Ultimate
as it has ONLY a RAM of 502MB.

My system information:
- Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M PRocessor 2.00GHz 2.00GHz
- Memory (RAM): 502 MB

It looks like your system has a lot of incompability issues with Vista.
Have you run compabilty test before installing it?
There is not way to go back to XP restoring old settings.
I always recommend creating an image of your c drive (I use Ghost program
myself).
In the case of trouble it takes just few minutes to restore your system.

first of all you have to remmember that this is a "prototype" you cant
really say that the system sucks since it is not finished and the reason we
are all TESTING. i wont bug you too much but you really should have done more
homework prior to the install.
this is what i would suggest:

either make a back up copy of all the stuff you want to keep or get a second
drive (internal or external) and send all the info you want to it.
now, reinstall Vista but this time choose "CUSTOM" which will be a clean
install and just start over. you will have to re-install all of your software
and some of it will not work. (ITS A NEW OS)
the main reason you are having so much problems with Vista -- aside from
having programs that are not compatible -- is because Vista kept all of the
drivers designed to work in XP and is trying to make them work. unfortunately
Vista if built differently and alot of them just will not work and a new
driver is needed.
i am certain if you re-install Vista clean most of the issues like monitor
and printer and any other harware issue will be resolved. as far as the
software, well if you want to keep Vista you may need to wait for an update
from the MFG.

for your printer (i have CX4800) just go the EPSON us site and download the
printer and scanner driver. they work with no problems. i only had issues
with the Photo Impress driver; so, i did not install it.

Yuppz... I did do a compatibility test and it was ok. I think I will try to
reinstall again, but using a clean install this time.
