Hi!

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 Pro in a Pentium II - 233Mhz (3.2Gb,
320Mb RAM). All is OK until the automatic hardware detection. After that,
during the introduccion of the serial number (sometimes few seconds later or
earlier), the system stops completely and I only can reboot it.

Why do it occurs? Can it be a hardware error?

Thank you very much for your help! :)

You could try checking the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) found on the MS
website, its possible that whatever is loaded next (don't ask me its been 3
years or so since I installed , I use Ghost to reinstall a basic image when
I need to) is causing the problem.

If you cant find the HCL let me know I have it somewhere

Sounds like an ACPI problem.

Early on during setup you'll see "Hit F6 to Install Additional Drivers" or
something like that on the bottom of the screen. It only stays there for a
few seconds. When you see that, hit F7 <--- not a typo, F7. That will
instruct setup to NOT load an ACPI HAL. That might fix your problem.
