This is what I get -
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mailhost.tstt.net.tt',
Server: 'mailhost.tstt.net.tt', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.
Thanks for help, George

Your settings look good.
Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not compatible
with Windows Mail.

I use McAffee anti virus with Firewall and all the usual "bells and
whistles". Please note this is a recent problem. I have used Vista Mail
without problems for several months after I purchased a new DELL computer.
Note also, today I have been having problems with the mail programme, its
"Not responding" for a minute or so and then comes back on. Maybe I have a
problem with the Mail programme?
thanks again, George.

It seems more likely that you have a problem caused by the McAfee
antivirus program. Such problems in Windows Mail often take months
to show up. Just disabling the McAfee program is not enough to stop
it from causing problems; you have to uninstall it. You then often have
to run this program to handle what the uninstall left behind:

<http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=107083&lc=4105&partner=McAfee&type=TS&ia=1>

You may even have to remove your email account under Windows
Mail, then restart Windows Mail and create the account again.

If this solves your problem, you may want a replacement antivirus
program that doesn't cause such problems. I recommend either
avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install that tells it to leave
out the part that scans email.

By the way, I think your problem report is the first I've seen come
from your country.

Thanks Robert,
If the problem persists I will follow your detailed directions. Actually
shortly after I posted the last one, messages in my outbox which were sitting
there for several hours, suddenly "Zapped" out! BTW, I have McAffee set to
NOT scan outgoing mails.
George.

That is an error on RECEIVING, not a SENDING error.
