Problems with Search

When using Start - Search the search button grays out
when I want to do an addtional search and gives me an
error. I used Search under windows NT and never had a
problem.

Hi Deborah,

The Search feature in XP Gold and XP SP1 is hopelessly broken and
undependable.

There are claims that Microsoft has plans to make this feature finally
usable with SP2, but who knows?

In the interim, what I, and many others, have done is download a freeware
program called Agent Ransack at www.agentransack.com.

Hi Deborah,

Try this:

Click Start | Run | type "regsvr32 /i shell32"

If this does not help, post the exact error.
