problems with publishing _derived folder associated with themes

Hi I am using Frontpage 2002 and have added a new page to a web. The graphics associated with themes contained within the _derived folder are not publishing. I am using file/publish web in Frontpage. In the folder list, nothing is appearing in the _derived folder despite me using Tools/websettings/advanced/show hidden files and folders. I have exhaused my small knowledge bank when it comes to frontpage and would appreciate any assistance.

You will not see the _derived folders in FP
- are you publishing using http mode or ftp mode
Run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks before publishing

Provide a URL of the published site online

Stefan and Mike -
Thank you for your reply,
I have just performed the tools/recalculate hyperlinks and still have problems.I am publishing in ftp mode. My new page was for a Photo Gallery web address http://www.natla.com.au/photo_gallery.htm
Is it best to stay away from themes in Frontpage 2002? I thought it would be a quick way to revamp this website?

Remove all spaces from all file and folder names - illegal html & breaks link for nav bars

Then, since you are FTPing, always FTP all the contents of the _hidden folders named _themes and _derived

Thanks Stefan,
I have started to rename files and folders and will have to redo some hyperlinks.
However when I file/publish web and have the adjacent boxes to publish from C:\ to ftp that pesky _derived folder (which I am beginning to dislike very much) doesn't appear. How then do I publish its contents? I appreciate your patience.
TIA

I have finally found a solution to publishing the _derived folder via a web guru at the ISP. He told me to download cuteftp and upload to the site via this program. The _derived folder and its contents appeared for upload, however, simply trying to upload the whole folder did not work. I had to identify each problem item and individually upload each file. The website is now up and running. Thank you to all in the group who replied to my query. I hope that this may help someone else who finds themselves with a similar problem.

Your host is not doing you a service
- an apparently knows nothing about the FP SE and how they work

Using any FTP program corrupt the FP SE and your FP web / site
- have them run a Server FP SE repair and health check / recalculate hyperlinks

You will never "see" the _derived folder in FP

Provide the URL of the site you are having problems publishing to and explain which files you believe are missing
