A side note, I am using XP Pro Svc Pack 2

I R-click Start, select Properties, Toolbar and Start Menu Properties opens,
secct customize. I get two tabs: 1) General 2) Advanced. On the General tab,
it has 3 sections:

1) Select an icon size for programs

2) Programs
The Start menu contains shortcuts...
Number of programs on start menu 6

3) Show on start menu

cheched Internet
cheched Email.

I not sure what I am doing wrong, I can not find "Use Personalized menus"

Thanks

Did you try dragging your shortcuts to the start tab
Drag the shortcut you want in the menu to the start
tab and release they should appear in the menu this
works in classic view ,but it should work in your case
also,if not ,change to classic view add shortcuts, and
change back
