Hello,
My question is regarding Outlook Express 6.0 (Service Pack 1).
I'm currently running Windows XP Home, and noticed recently that when I load
up Outlook Express 6.0 that it freezes a lot. For example, once the actual
Outlook Express program comes up, it'll freeze up for about 30 - 45 seconds
and at the top, the window says "Not Responding" until it finally unfreezes
and becomes functionable again. I don't know what can be causing this,
since this problem has just recently occured. Usually, Outlook Express
would load up, check my e-mail from my POP3 accounts and be done, but now it
freezes up. I tried doing the System File Checker utility by going to
Start -> Run and typing it sfc /scannow and let it scan my computer, and
that has not helped. I've also tried to re-install Outlook Express 6.0 by
using the information found on
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q318378 (Method
2) -- where I edited the registry value to remove Outlook Express and
re-downloaded the IE setup and re-installed it. And I have read on the
internet that "Windows Messenger" might delay the load time, but I do not
have Windows Messenger installed, since I've uninstalled it a while back,
but even when I still had it, Outlook Express never froze up as it does now.
If anybody has some suggestions, please give them to me. I really
appreciate it!
