I have created a modified template and saved it under a different name. When
i open it from "New" it comes up fine and I can use the Letter Wizzard to
populate it. If I go straight to the wizzard it just dumps the information in
the "normal" template. Same if I try to send a letter from Outlook. I have
put a copy of the new template in both the "documents and settings" with the
normal one and in "program files" with the other supplied templates. When I
open "new", it only appears in with "normal" so, I think, that the letter
wizzard, whilst listing it and showing a preview, is not finding it when it
goes into action.

I believe the name of the template is important in order for it to be picked
up when using the wizard, though frankly I never use the wizard. It is much
better to create your own templates
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm and if you want to
populate it from Outlook - use the method suggested at
http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm .

As for template locations, see http://www.gmayor.com/Template_Locations.htm

Any template with the word "letter" or "letterhead" in the filename will be
used by the Letter Wizard.
