I've had this probably on and off and notice it's getting worse.

Whenever I'm on the internet I have problems getting to websites.
I'll get this these types of errors:

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to
make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's
domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click tools, click Internet
Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS
protocols are enabled under the security

section.

that Navigator is permitted to access the Web.

I will get an error from Firefox that the page has been reset. I often
reload the page and it comes up. But many times I have to completely
shut down the browser all together and reopen it to get it to bring a
page up.

I have checked for Viruses, Malware and Adware. Nothing is found.
I've tried changing my network cable, and updating the driver for my
Ethernet Card. I do notice that the more that I'm on the internet
browsing or whatnot the problem gets worse. I don't think it's a
problem with my router because the other networked computer doesn't
have the problem. I have the error no matter what browser I'm
using.

I have windows xp media center edition, 2 gig of ram, 200gig hard
drive. I have a d-link 514 router it's an 802.11b set up. So it's an
older model.

Any ideas on what the problem might be and how to fix it?

I don't know about the rest, but I find that's common in
Firefox. If I'm online with a poor connection and several
windows open, Firefox seems to lose track. I'll load one page
and go read another while I'm waiting. Then I come back
and find the same error you're talking about: server not
found or page reset. In those cases I find that I have to
wait until the page has actually started transferring data
before I can switch windows.

I never really had the problem until recently. I tried and just
hooked my modem up to my computer directly. It was MUCH faster. So
I'm thinking that my problem started right around the time that
Roadrunner said that they increased the speed. It could be that my
old router can't keep up with the speed and it slowing my connection
down which is why I'm getting the errors. But the one thing is why
would it just be in this computer and not the other networked
computer. That's the part that doesn't make sense tho.

Anyone have any other ideas?

You might need to adjust your MTU, etc.:

Today I had some errands to run so I stopped by circuit city and took
a look at their routers. I decided to pick a new one up. I picked up
a wireless n router. I am setting the other computer up now to
connect to the network. So far the internet speed is MUCH MUCH faster
everything pops in much quicker, and (knock on wood) so far I have not
had the problems I was having before. So hopefully all that was
needed was a new updated router.
